MNS is hiring a Supervising Engineer to supervise professional staff and/or projects in the Water Resources group, recruit and train talent and provide expertise and guidance as appropriate in the corporate office and across multiple branch locations. May serve as the client manager for projects and assume responsibilities to cultivate new industry contacts in coordination with and support from the Engineering Market Leader and Business Development Manager.
Responsibilities
Water/Wastewater
- Oversee work related to accepted engineering practices and techniques for water and wastewater treatment process and collection/distribution design
- Manage and participate in the development of engineering reports and studies for water and wastewater projects including treatment and collection/distribution
- Manage detailed design efforts for a wide array of water and wastewater projects, ranging from collection and distribution to treatment and reuse with particular emphasis on projects associated with municipal systems
General
- May also be responsible for the cultivation of new and maintenance of existing clientele
- Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields
- Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments
- Works on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features
- Prepares and reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
- Assists upper level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
- Supervises all staff necessary to complete assignments
- Sets scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
- Prepares proposals to provide professional services under the direction of Principal Engineer
- Receives supervision and guidance relating to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters
- Represent company at industry functions and assume leadership positions when possible
- Conducts job performance evaluations
- Assists with recruitment
- Primary point of contact with clients and approving agencies
- Responsible for project profitability
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Education, Licensure, or Certification Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited program
- Professional Engineer
- Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
- Valid California driver’s license
Minimum Experience Required
- 15 years of industry experience with a steady pattern of increasing responsibility
Other Required Skills
- Possesses advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.
- Represents the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments
Salary Description
$140,000 - $170,000 annual
