Cake Decorator

Mo'Pweeze Bakery is in need of an Intermediate level cake decorator to add to our wonderful growing team. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to create high end wedding and specialty cakes as well as specialty cupcakes and cookies. We are willing to train on the job.

Must be versed in all aspects of cake decorating including:

Icing and stacking multi-tiered wedding cakes.

Piping frosting decorations and designs.

Covering and decorating fondant cakes.

Carving and decorating sculpted cakes.

Creating sculpted figurines, cut outs, and shapes using fondant etc.

The ability to use color and various artistic techniques to achieve the look desired by customer.

Candidate must also:

Follow instruction on order forms.

Work neatly, clean and organized.

Be familiar on how to use bakery machinery and tools.

Be able to manage their time and complete many high quality cakes in the allotted time.

Have a high standard for attention to detail.

Have flexible hours and availability.

Have 1 years’ experience in high end cake decorating.

Experience: Cake decorating and fondant work - 2 years preferred.

Home decorators are welcomed to apply with a minimum of 4 years experience.

This position requires employee to have adequate communicating and observational skills, including seeing, speaking and hearing, due to the operation of various types of moving equipment used in the bakery. These requirements are for the safety of the employee and co-workers. These requirements are also necessary for communicating with co-workers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee will be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); and occasionally exposed to extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather), and to rapid changes in temperature.
