Role Description :
Manage the creation, development, analysis, and research of new product designs and patterns for HIMACS, VIATERA, and TERACANTO.
Research market and design trends, analyzing market trends and customer requirements, improving existing products, and collaborating with product managers and engineers.
Generating color & pattern samples for product development and customer meetings
Support marketing and sales team by providing marketing resources and concepts for new products, and giving presentations internally and externally to promote new products.
Ideating for innovative production technology to enhance design and manufacturability of new products. Collaborating with Surfaces Product Development Team to execute innovative production technologies
Responsibilities :
Research and analyze market and design trends through tradeshows, trend-forecasting services and trendspotting
Take responsibility in the research and development of colors, materials, formulations, and processes.
Conduct lab tests and mass production tests for new products and colors.
New product selection and preparation for launch
Introducing new products and develop customized colors (Recreational Vehicle and OEM)
Conduct market trend analysis including but not limited to US (KBIS, Coverings, RV Show, Milan Furniture Fair, Verona Stone Fair)
Trend research by channel and region by vising K&B dealers and fabricators for surveys
Analyze competitor’s design and customer requirements.
Gain the voice of the customer through focus studies, surveys, and customer visits
Perform regularly competitor analysis on Surfaces Products
Collaborate with HQ Design Center in South Korea or external experts.
Develop design strategies and concepts.
Present design & trend proposal to customers at internal and external events
Lead on outsourced designs by working with Surfaces Team (Product Management side), communicate effectively with overseas suppliers / vendors, and review and evaluate lab samples and color matching.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience :
Undergraduate degree in textile, graphic, interior, industrial design or related field.
10 years’ experience.
Knowledge and Skills :
MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
