Job Description

Job Title : Acute Care Speech Language Pathologist

Job Specialty : Language Pathologist

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 8 hours, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 : 30 pm

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Experience : 5 years

License : MA State Licensure

Certifications : ASHA Certification, Current CPR Certification

Must-Have :

  • Experience managing complex patients with Head and Neck Cancer, tracheostomy, dysphagia.
  • Analytical abilities sufficient to evaluate patients' condition, capabilities, and progress to develop appropriate treatment programs.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to be socially perceptive in accepting and relaying confidential information, communicating policies and procedures, and interacting with patients, families, and various members of the health care team.
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office.
  • Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work.
  • Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of social, racial, and ethnic populations.
  • Must be able to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information.

Job Description :

  • Provide specialized speech and language therapy services to acute care patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary medical teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of patient evaluations, progress, and outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapy strategies and progress to promote awareness and improvement.
  • Continuously update skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities to maintain high standards of care.
  • Preferred : FEES Competency.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
