Job Description

Job Title : Acute Care Speech Language Pathologist

Job Specialty : Language Pathologist

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 8 hours, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 : 30 pm

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Experience : 5 years

License : MA State Licensure

Certifications : ASHA Certification, Current CPR Certification

Must-Have :

Experience managing complex patients with Head and Neck Cancer, tracheostomy, dysphagia.
Analytical abilities sufficient to evaluate patients' condition, capabilities, and progress to develop appropriate treatment programs.
Effective interpersonal skills to be socially perceptive in accepting and relaying confidential information, communicating policies and procedures, and interacting with patients, families, and various members of the health care team.
Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office.
Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work.
Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of social, racial, and ethnic populations.
Must be able to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information.

Job Description :

Provide specialized speech and language therapy services to acute care patients.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary medical teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of patient evaluations, progress, and outcomes.

Educate patients and their families on therapy strategies and progress to promote awareness and improvement.

Continuously update skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities to maintain high standards of care.

Preferred : FEES Competency.

Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
