What are the responsibilities and job description for the MATERIAL HANDLER – SHIPPING/RECEIVING ASSOCIATE position at MOBA Corporation?
We are a well established, privately held, multinational mobile technology company located in Peachtree City, GA. We have an excellent opportunity for a Material Handler / Shipping & Receiving Associate in our Peachtree City location effective February 14, 2025. This position performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods of the company and receiving incoming shipments.
Shipping duties typically involve verifying that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents, insuring that the shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded for transport, also pulling orders for Manufacturing.
Receiving duties typically involve verifying the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, purchase orders, packing slips, receipts or other records, checking for damaged goods, insuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the company, and preparing and keeping records of goods received.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The duties related to this position include, but are not limited to;
Ability to follow documented procedures as to warehouse procedures for all incoming and outbound shipments.
Responsible for pulling, packing, staging and processing orders.
Pick, pull, count, weigh and measure items included in incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, or other records.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers. Binds containers with strapping tape or palletizes products for shipment.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage accordingly.
Responsible for receiving, unpacking, verifying and stocking material.
Responsible for maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse. Responsibility for Annual Inventory and Cycle Counts as directed.
Operates sit-down forklift or uses hand truck/pallet jack to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Apply common sense in carrying out detailed but non-technical written or oral instructions.
Able to use a computer to enter pertinent information regarding inbound and outbound shipments.
Requirements:
High School diploma or general education diploma (GED) in addition to 2 years of Shipping & Receiving employment in a warehouse environment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to count and identify pertinent information on labels and packaging.
Excellent problem solving skills.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft, especially Email, Word and Teams. Experience in ERP systems a plus.
Familiarity with shipping platforms, UPS, Fedex, Freight, LTL, Express and scheduling shipments.
Ability to work effectively within tight timelines. Able to juggle multiple tasks as needed and complete assignments in a timely manner.
Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate with other team members.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, will be working around and using a fork lift and/or pallet jack.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The warehouse is heated and air-conditioned.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/ fingers to handle or feel. Reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 90 pounds.
