Your role at MOBE
The Medical Economics Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data related to healthcare costs and utilization. This role will support the development of strategic insights that drive value-based care initiatives and financial performance improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare data analysis, financial modeling, SQL, and an understanding of the healthcare industry's economic landscape.
Responsibilities
- Develop financial models to project healthcare costs, assess the financial impact of program changes, and support contract negotiations with clients.
- Analyze claims data, clinical data, and program operational data to evaluate healthcare costs, utilization trends and patterns.
- Use SQL and dbt to develop scalable production processes and reporting workflows.
- Create dynamic MS Excel or Tableau models to effectively communicate analytics insights and respond to requests.
- Independently execute special projects and ad hoc requests with minimal oversight
- Prepare reports and presentations that translate complex data into actionable insights for executive leadership, clinical teams, and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and clinical teams to evaluate contract performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for medical costs and utilization to ensure alignment with financial goals and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development of pricing strategies, reimbursement models, and performance-based contracts.
- Support the preparation of reserve forecasts and financial performance reviews.
- Employ actuarial principles and methodologies to assess financial risks and analyze claims-based data.
