Job Responsibilities
The Men's Assistant Basketball Coach/Dorm Supervisor Shall
- Assist the head coach in all aspects of the basketball program, including planning, organizing, and conducting practices.
- Provide skill development sessions and tactical training to student-athletes.
- Assist with game preparation, strategy development, and in-game coaching.
- Support the recruitment efforts by identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic excellence among players.
- Monitor academic progress of the players;
- Assist with study halls;
- Adhere to policies and regulations as outlined in Policy Handbook;
- Obtain a CDL driver's license as needed;
- Reside in the dormitory on a full-time basis and abide by the rules and regulations as outlined in the Moberly Area Community College Housing Handbook;
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned residence hall, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive living environment for students.
- Assist the Coordinator of Residence Life with residence hall programming and events to enhance the overall student experience and foster a sense of belonging;
- Address student concerns, conduct disciplinary actions when necessary, and enforce college policies and procedures.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, offering guidance on academic, personal, and social matters.
- Assist with the beginning and end of semester/year activities of the residence halls in cooperation with Student Affairs;
- Communicate with the Director of Security & Residential Life any known dates or times you will be absent from the residence hall on weekends, holidays, and college breaks;
- Report any violations of the Housing Handbook policy to the Director of Security & Residential Life and Dean of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
