WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Deploy, configure, diagnose, and repair complex, mission-critical Land Mobile Radio equipment and systems (P25 Trunking Systems, MOTOTRBO, etc.) and related system components such as microwave, power, and network communications.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance and equipment upgrades.
- Participate in ongoing technical training to ensure knowledge of LMR technology developments.
- Assist in the specification of service, installation, and programming projects.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and be mentored on new technologies in communications and equipment.
- Complete and report on technical activities.
- Serve in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 technical support.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
- Minimum two (2) years, an average of 5 years of technical service and installation experience.
- Proven track record of providing hands-on operational, technical, and installation support/service to complex radio and other wireless communications systems/equipment (Two-Way Radios, Land Mobile Radios, P25 Trunking Systems, MOTOTRBO, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge/understanding of radio theory, RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands, and communications systems.
- Subscriber programming knowledge.
- Strong communication skills with end users and third parties.
- P25 and/or MotoTRBO experience is required.
YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Will be working a hybrid work schedule and expected to travel within the Southern Maryland and Washington, DC area as necessary to support company and customer needs.
