What are the responsibilities and job description for the Architect (Mobile County Commission) position at Mobile County Personnel Board?
This is responsible professional architectural work in the planning, design, review, inspection and coordination of major building construction, alteration and maintenance projects for the employing jurisdiction.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Attainment of a minimum of a bachelor of architecture degree from a recognized college or university accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and a minimum of three years responsible professional experience as a registered architect; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.
Special Requirement
Licensure as a Registered Architect by the State of Alabama Board of Architects; or if licensed in another state, the ability to become registered within 6 months from date of employment. Our office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday, except for major holidays.
Eligibles selected for appointment must meet the established medical and physical standards for the class of work. The medical examination must be by one of the physicians designated by the Personnel Board. Appointees must bear the cost of the examination.
