Victim Advocate (City of Mobile Prevention and Mitigation)

This is responsible social services work involving the Mobile Police Department’s mitigation of the effects of trauma on victims of crime through a coordinated prevention and intervention delivery system.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Attainment of a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in counseling, social work, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, education or closely related field supplemented by college course work related to trauma and engaging victims, and a minimum of one year experience in working with juvenile behavior problems, drug interventions, and counseling services; one year of experience working as a law enforcement system-based advocate preferred; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

Special Requirement
Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state of residency.
