Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Activities Director to join our team in Bad Axe, MI. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating engaging activities that enhance the social, psychological, and therapeutic well-being of our residents. The ideal candidate will create programs tailored to residents’ abilities, interests, and preferences while ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities program that meets the needs of all residents.
- Complete and/or direct the activities component of resident assessments as part of the comprehensive care plan.
- Plan and schedule group and individual activities including recreational, educational, cultural, and arts & crafts programs.
- Monitor and evaluate resident participation and adjust activities based on feedback and engagement levels.
- Ensure the activities program operates seven days a week, with at least one individual activity planned daily for residents unable or unwilling to join group events.
- Oversee and coordinate transportation for residents to internal and external social activities.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to activity staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations regarding resident activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Activities Director or in a similar role in a healthcare or senior care setting preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to create engaging and person-centred activities for residents with varying needs.
- Understanding of state and federal regulations related to resident care activities.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to working with seniors.
