Job Title: Anesthesia Technician (Travel Assignment)
Location: Wausau, WI
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Weekly Hours: 40 Guaranteed Hours
Shift: Variable 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday (start times may include 5:00 AM, 5:30 AM, 7:00 AM, or 10:00 AM)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Anesthesia Technician for a 13-week travel assignment in Wausau, WI. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical support experience in a surgical environment, particularly within cardiothoracic programs and trauma care. Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and meet on-call requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist anesthesia providers in various specialties, with a primary focus on cardiothoracic support
- Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies
- Support central line placement and Swan-Ganz catheter procedures
- Operate advanced devices such as Cell Saver and Belmont Rapid Infuser
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within EPIC
- Float to other regional locations as needed
- Participate in rotating holidays and on-call shifts (including 1–2 weekends per contract)
Requirements:
- Certifications:
- AHA BLS – Required
- ASATT – Preferred
Education:
- Completion of an Anesthesia Tech program – Preferred
- Relevant experience accepted in lieu of formal education
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent anesthesia tech experience – Required
- Trauma Level II experience – Highly Preferred
- Experience assisting in heart surgeries or with central lines and Swan-Ganz catheters – Required
- At least one completed travel assignment – Required
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with EPIC documentation system – Preferred
- Proficient in setup and operation of Cell Saver and Belmont equipment
Additional Information:
- Must have own vehicle for on-call requirements
- Scrubs provided
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and adaptability skills desired
- 50-mile radius rule applies and will be enforced
