Job Summary:
The client is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to assist in filling unit dose orders, maintaining patient medication records, and supporting pharmacists with advanced tasks as permitted by certification. This role provides an opportunity to work in a scenic, low-traffic area, with nearby housing options in Reedsport, Bandon, Coquille, Myrtle Point, and North Bend (approx. 30-minute commute).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
- Maintain accurate patient medication records.
- Ensure compliance with hospital and state regulations.
- Operate pharmacy-related software and office equipment.
- Handle interdepartmental communication and public interactions professionally.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all pharmacy operations.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in computer systems and pharmacy software.
- Ability to operate applicable office and pharmacy equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with departments and the public.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- Valid Oregon Pharmacy Technician License (High School Diploma or equivalent required for licensure).
- BLS (AHA) Certification (required).
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification from one of the following:
- ICPT (Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians)
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board)
- ExCPT (Pharmacy Technician Certification)
- Completion of medical terminology coursework or related experience preferred.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- Experience with IV compounding and hospital pharmacy procedures is a plus.
