- Provides patient care as assigned and per routine, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.
- Answers telephone calls and call lights in a timely and appropriate manner
- Documents care provided according to standards
- Maintains a clean work and patient environment
- Maintains and orders supplies, including scanning, stocking, and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
- Processes orders in an accurate and timely manner. Provides information or relays messages to patients and staff.
- Directs visitors to patients' rooms. Maintains medical records of current patients. Processes patient charges
- Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities. Skills performed include but are not limited to Performing 12 Lead EKGs, Cleaning and bandaging of wounds and suture sites., Removal of sutures, starting IV and administering medications within established scope practice, System Prehospital Protocols, Performing venipunctures, Assisting ED MDs with intubation, Performing CPR during resuscitations utilizing the LUCAS as appropriate, Assisting with splint applications, Assisting with a chest tube and CVP insertions by gathering needed supplies\equipment, Performs BGM’s, Transports non-monitored and monitored patients to the inpatient units, Receives prehospital run reports from incoming agencies, greets EMS and rooms EMS patients in appropriate areas, Provides other care at the appropriate level by direction from nursing and physician staff
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Graduate of a Paramedic program.
- Current IL Paramedic licensure by IL EMS Licensing
- Current CPR certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- NREMT
