Position : Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Shift Notes : The first 4 weeks the schedule is Monday-Friday 6 : 30a-3 : 00p. The second 4 weeks will be Tues-Friday 6 : 30a-5 : 00p. (40 hour guarantee)

On-Call Requirements : No Weekends

This position performs a variety of technical procedures that require the use of independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist should have knowledge about Nuclear Medicine Instrumentation which includes the use of gamma cameras (both planar and SPECT), PET, Radiation detectors / counters, dose calibrators, and the Quality Control of all equipment. The technologist should know about Radiation Safety Practices / Handling, patient and occupational exposures, dosimetry, as low as (is) reasonably achievable (ALARA) techniques that include time, distance, and shielding. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) guidelines about handling, administering, and transportation of radioactive materials. The technologist should have knowledge about Radiopharmacy which includes safe administration, preparation, measurement, and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals for Diagnostic and / or Therapeutic purposes.
