We are currently looking for experienced, hardworking and compassionate Healthcare Professionals to join us and help bridge the staffing gap in all aspects of the healthcare system. We offer PRN, Contract and permanent positions.

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Long Term Care

Start Date: 9/23/2024

Duration: 13 Weeks

Location: Iron River, MI, 49935

Shift Type/Shift Times/Hours/Day: Days, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, 12

Shift Notes: 12 hr days

Weekend Requirements: TBD

On-Call Requirements: None

Travel Policy: Candidates' Permanent Address (Facility will not consider local candidates - 100-mile radius restriction)

  • Observe each resident continuously alert to changes in mental and physical well-being; notify the Supervisor of pertinent observations and discuss the need to notify the physician; receive Resident Status reports from off-going shift and give on-coming shift a detailed report of each resident’s status and events of the shift.
  • Record narcotics on a 30 days basis
  • Accurately receive, transcribe, and carry out physician’s orders.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and make proper documentation via a computerized system.
  • Perform wound care and know wound vacs.
  • Perform regular duties on the unit such as checking appointments for the day; checking Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy appointments; checking activity boards; reminding staff of ambulation lists, weights, and blood pressures, and documenting nutritional charts. Monitor LNA documentation and update LNA clipboard; oversight of infection control practices on the unit; ensure that the unit is clean and hazard-free. Following the chain of command, report any problems to the Nurse Manager/Nursing Supervisor. Encourage LNA observations and include them when documenting and reporting.
  • Admit, discharge, and transfer residents, completing documentation and notifications as necessary.
  • Complete 24-hour report for his/her assigned unit(s); check new orders; complete list of residents on antibiotics, precautions, etc.; maintain consistent communication with the Nurse Manager/ Nursing Supervisor regarding resident issues or concerns with staff; differentiating between acute and non-emergency problems; and attend all mandatory staff/educational meetings and non-mandatory meetings as assigned.
  • Communicate with residents’ families to resolve resident concerns and problems notify family members of new orders, and obtain consent when necessary.
  • Receive incoming calls and determine the appropriate response required.
  • Follow State and Federal Regulations regarding the storage, usage, and documentation of controlled medications including counting at the change of shift; notify the appropriate Supervisor if discrepancies are present.

Submission Requirements

  • 6 months experience in LTC- REQUIRED
  • BLS- REQUIRED

  • Skills Checklist (pertinent to position), current to 1 year
  • 1 Supervisory Signed Reference (from within the past two years of employment)
  • License/Certifications - Must be uploaded with profile (Current NH license and BLS, 3 years current experience - Facility will not pend license/certs)
