Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department (ED) team in Pompton Plains, NJ. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department (ED) settings and be skilled in patient assessment, clinical procedures, and emergency response. This role requires strong patient care, documentation, and education skills while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform systematic, comprehensive, and accurate patient assessments for all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
• Deliver competent and appropriate nursing care tailored to the needs of the Emergency Department.
• Demonstrate proficiency in emergency procedures and equipment usage.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with policies and guidelines, including patient progress and education.
• Ensure a patient-centered approach by responding professionally and courteously to patients, families, and colleagues.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and follow universal protocols, including patient identification with two patient identifiers.
• Support pre-admission testing (PAT) by evaluating orders for appropriateness based on surgery type, patient condition, and age.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative education, ensuring patient and family understanding.
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to prioritize patient care based on needs and condition changes.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department (ED) settings (required).
• Active RN License (required).
• BLS & ACLS Certification (required).
• PALS Certification (required for Pediatric ER nurses).
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred).
• Strong skills in patient care, documentation, education, and emergency response.

Schedule & Compensation:

• Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM EST
• Hours Per Week: 36 (up to 3 shifts per week)
• Department: Emergency Department

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $57.00 - $59.00 per hour
