Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to join our team in Saginaw, MI. In this role, you will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing supplies and equipment for use by hospital staff, as well as preparing the case cart system for the Operating Room. Additional duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Pull OR cases following requisition forms and deliver carts to the Operating Room in a timely manner.
- Restock OB case carts and deliver sterilized supplies to nursing units, including restocking monitor carts in the ICU.
- Empty soiled OR and OB case carts promptly, dispose of linen and trash in the proper receptacles, and decontaminate instruments according to established procedures.
- Decontaminate case carts using the steam room and clean and refurbish equipment in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Perform quality assurance tests on sterilizers, including Bowie Dick tests on vacuum steam sterilizers, and biological tests on both OR gravity and vacuum steam sterilizers.
- Conduct diagnostic tests on Steris sterilizers and record results.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sterile processing – Required.
- Recent traveler experience is highly preferred.
- Certifications required: HSPA (IAHCSMM) and BLS (AHA).
- Submission requirements include a detailed work history, a current skills checklist (updated within the last year), and 2 supervisory reference forms (from the past two years).
- Candidates must provide their permanent address (note: the facility does not consider local candidates within a 50-mile radius).
- All scheduling requests and RTO must be presented at the time of submission; any requests made post-offer may result in the offer being rescinded.
Working Conditions:
This position requires work in a hospital environment with regular use of office equipment such as computers, telephones, fax machines, and copiers.

Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,400.00 per week
