Summary of Duties:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated AR Aging Collections Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable collections, focusing on aging reports, and resolving outstanding claims. Candidates must have extensive experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurance providers. Familiarity with state-specific healthcare laws in Alabama (AL), Georgia (GA), South Carolina (SC), Tennessee (TN), and Virginia (VA) is highly desired.
Education: Associate's degree in healthcare administration, accounting, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience (minimum of 2-3 years) in AR aging collections or similar roles.
- In-depth understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurance billing and claim processes.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare laws and billing regulations in AL, GA, SC, TN, and VA.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and familiarity with coding standards such as CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Essential Functions:
- Analyze and monitor aging accounts receivable reports to identify overdue claims and take necessary collection actions.
- Collaborate with Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurance payers to address and resolve outstanding claims.
- Research, document, and resolve claim denials, discrepancies, and payment issues efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and payer guidelines, particularly for Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance policies across AL, GA, SC, TN, and VA.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare billing regulations.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, including billing and customer service, to streamline collections processes.
- Provide regular updates and reports on collections progress to management.
Physical Demands:
