What are the responsibilities and job description for the Branch Manager position at Mobile Lumber & Building Materials?
We are accepting applications for a BRANCH MANAGER to handle the daily operations at their store location. We are looking for individuals that bring building materials (or related field) experience, positive energy and leadership skills, and the ability to make things happen.
MUST HAVE PROVEN MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE!
Essential Functions:
- Personnel management: training, motivating employees, opening and/or closing the store.
- Merchandising, ordering, purchasing, receiving, product mix (hardware, builder's hardware, building materials, lawn and garden, tools, paint, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
- Manages loading, unloading and delivery of materials
- Customer service to builders, remodelers and homeowners in person, via email and on the phone in a timely and effective manner.
- This is a key holder position.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be computer literate
- Excellent customer service and personnel management skills.
- Project management, problem solving and critical thinking skills are a must
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Must have knowledge of building materials, lumber, tools, contractor supplies, hardware, millwork, and related products (such as trusses, roofing, insulation, paint, etc.) to be considered.
- Regional knowledge preferred, but we will consider applicants from other regions.
- May need to drive occasionally
Physical Demands:
- Continuously stand, squat, hear, see, bend, stoop, grip, twist, climb, reach, walk, write, and kneel
- May occasionally need to push/pull 50 lbs, and lift/ carry up to 50 lbs.
- May need to walk extended distances to the warehouse.
- May be required to go up and down stairs (13 steps one way) to reach the corporate offices.
- Work 8 hour shifts up to 6 days per week.
Rate of pay will depend on building material/hardware knowledge and management experience. This is a salaried position with benefits.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
