What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Maintenance Technician position at Mobile Lumber & Building Materials?
THIS IS NOT A FORKLIFT OPERATOR POSITION. The Forklift Maintenance Technician is responsible for servicing and repair of equipment, working both independently and on a team. Examples of the type of machinery to be serviced are internal combustion and diesel lift trucks. On-the job training may be offered to those with some forklift experience or mechanical background. The Technician will demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner.
Essential Responsibilities & Expectations
- Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures
- Ability to perform the following tasks on basic components in work area including engine, hydraulic, and electrical components: remove and install; disassemble and reassemble; perform minor adjustments
- Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance service according to factory guidelines
- Works as a helper in field service with experienced Technician as required
- Works independently in the field as required
- Must have a valid driver’s license to be eligible for hire.
Experience
- Forklift or mechanical experience PREFERRED
Required
- High School or Equivalent or better in Diploma/GED
- Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving history
