Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine the scope of work and required materials.
Set up and operate welding equipment (TIG, MIG, MMA, etc.) to join metal components according to welding procedures.
Measure, mark, and cut materials to specified dimensions using various cutting tools and equipment.
Position and align components using fixtures, clamps, and other devices to ensure proper fit and alignment.
Weld components in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead) to produce strong and durable welds.
Grind and finish welds to meet specified tolerances and appearance standards.
Inspect welds for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Maintain welding and fabrication equipment and work area in clean and safe condition.
Utilize various hand and power tools to fabricate and assemble components.
Produce and maintain production fixtures (jigs) to improve efficiency.
Demonstrate versatility and adaptability by applying specialized knowledge and skills to support broader company objectives as directed by management.
Qualifications :
Certificate, Diploma or associate degree in welding, metalworking or related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
Expertise in welding and fabrication
Experience in various welding processes (TIG, MIG, MMA).
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
Knowledge of how to determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
Knowledge of different metals and their welding characteristics
Welding Certification like CW, CWI, SCWI, CWENG, CRWT, CRAW or similar is preferred.
Working Conditions : Climate controlled manufacturing environment. Exposure to noise, fumes and varying temperatures. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and welding helmet.
Compensation : Hourly wage of $22-30 an hour depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefit package includes :
