Job description
Mobile Therapy Centers (MTC) are a private practice with a progressive service delivery model, where the therapists come to the client. Over the last 17 years, Mobile Therapy Centers has evolved from a single therapist offering a single service to employing over 100 health professionals, who provide a multitude of high-quality customized therapeutic services (ABA Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Behavioral Therapy and Counseling) for children, teens, adults, and families. Mobile Therapy Centers (MTC) is looking for Collections Specialist.
The Collections Specialist will resolve credit balances and account problems; posts refunds, adjustments, and other account actions. Performs collection activities on all delinquent accounts. He/she will also regularly communicate with insurance companies, clients, and therapists to resolve discrepancies. This position is required to be on-site.
Essential Duties:
- Contacts delinquent accounts by telephone or letter, notifying them of legal obligation to pay.
- Analyzes a/r aging report to determine delinquent accounts and appropriate collection strategy (may interface with executive management/sales rep on special accounts).
- Reports weekly a/r aging and cash receipts to sales representatives and executive management.
- Advises debtors of payment options and actions that may result from non-payment of debt.
- Documents all collection activities.
- Billing/invoicing of all credit card and certain non-routine sales.
- Answers questions to resolve short pays and account problems.
- Negotiates and obtains voluntary payment of accounts.
- Reconciles all monthly purchase invoices.
- Works with billing staff to determine billing corrections, and adjusts accounting software accordingly.
- Assists Medicare billing staff in processing insurance billing.
- Updates and maintains all accounts receivable filing.
- Coordinate, process and documents cash receipts (checks, lock box, credit card, and direct deposit).
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- 2 year minimum experience in collections required
- Advanced communication and organizational skills
- Computer proficiency skills: Google docs, Microsoft, Excel, EMR, Thera bill.
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
- Medical Billing Certificates a PLUS!!
