Key Responsibilities:
Patient Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for patients and their families, addressing their inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing necessary information. Explain treatment plans, procedures, and billing instructions to patients, ensuring they understand their care, financial responsibility, and follow-up requirements. Explain the purpose of the prescribed DME and billing criteria.
Care Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and allied health staff, to ensure the proper coordination of patient care. Monitor and update patient records to reflect their current condition, treatment plan, billing requirements, and progress.
Appointment Scheduling: Schedule and reschedule patient appointments as needed, considering the availability of healthcare providers and the urgency of the patient's condition. Follow up with patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and tests. Inform patients of their financial responsibility.
Insurance Verification: Verify patients' insurance coverage and assist them with understanding their insurance benefits and out-of-pocket costs.
