Job Title: Mobility Technician
Job Overview:
The Mobility Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, scooters, lift chairs, stairlifts, ramps and other assistive devices. This role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring all equipment is safe and functional, and providing excellent customer service to clients in need of mobility solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Setup:
- Install and assemble mobility equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
- Conduct thorough inspections of equipment post-installation to confirm safety standards are met.
2. Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform regular maintenance on mobility devices to ensure their optimal functioning.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in wheelchairs, scooters, lifts, and other mobility aids.
- Replace or repair parts, such as batteries, motors, and wheels, when necessary.
3. Customer Service:
- Provide guidance to customers on the proper use and maintenance of mobility equipment.
- Offer in-person or remote troubleshooting support to clients experiencing issues.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and efficient service.
4. Compliance and Safety:
- Follow safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines when working with mobility equipment.
- Keep accurate records of all services performed, repairs, and equipment condition.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and tools.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications or training in mobility equipment is a plus).
- Previous experience in repairing or maintaining mobility devices or similar equipment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license (for on-site services, if required).
Working Conditions:
- This position may require travel to client locations.
- Work hours may vary, with the potential for on-call services depending on client needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry mobility equipment.
- Ability to work in various environments (home settings, clinics, etc.) and handle equipment in tight spaces
Job Types: Temporary, Temp-to-hire
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
