Position Overview :
The Director of Safety, Compliance, and Risk Management is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's safety programs, compliance with regulations, and risk management strategies. This leadership role requires a proactive approach to ensure a safe workplace, adherence to industry standards, and the mitigation of potential risks. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of safety regulations, and a strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and Implement Safety Programs : Create and maintain safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Lead safety training initiatives and promote a culture of safety across the organization.
- Compliance Oversight : Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Risk Management : Identify potential risks to the organization and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. Oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement preventive measures. Oversee workers compensation and insurance programs with 3rd party carrier.
- Reporting and Documentation : Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, compliance audits, and risk assessments. Prepare reports for senior management and regulatory agencies as required.
- Leadership and Training : Lead a team of safety and compliance professionals. Provide guidance and support to staff at all levels, fostering a collaborative environment focused on safety and compliance.
- Collaboration : Work closely with other departments to integrate safety and compliance into all business processes. Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement : Stay current with industry trends and best practices. Recommend and implement enhancements to safety and compliance programs as needed.
