Description:
Purpose:
The Commercial Specialist is responsible for Accounts Receivable analysis and management as well as interaction with commercial and technical key contacts to support the relationship with internal and external customers.
Essential Duties:
- Accounts Receivable management & analysis generating all production related billing including special billing adjustment and retro pricing.
- Completes payment reports and payment analyses on a weekly basis for Finance.
- Resolves short payment issues with buyers and affected suppliers.
- Investigates and resolves discrepancies between purchase order pricing, billing, and payment.
- Prepares month-end sales closings and correctly completes AR clearing.
- Works synergistically with other departments not limited to Quality, Pricing, and Materials to resolve issues or receive back up .documentation.
- Creates invoices for obsolescence, engineering part requests, etc.
- Understands links between an extensive volume of financial data and automotive assembly processes.
- Participates in various negotiation with various entities (customers/supply base).
- Assists with commercial activities & responses to customers/supply base.
- Performs special assignments as delegated.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Education / Skill / Experience Requirements:
- College degree with 1 or more years of experience or equivalent.
- Must have working knowledge of manufacturing processes and able to learn and apply commercial concepts in the Automotive industry.
- Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills required.
- SAP knowledge preferred. Microsoft office skills required with advanced Excel knowledge preferred. Strong problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and self-motivated attitude desired.
- Finance and Accounting preferred, other business majors will also be considered.
