Position Summary:
The EV Battery Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of our electric vehicle batteries. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including sampling and inspecting incoming parts from suppliers and inspecting EV batteries (use of precision measurement equipment). Identifying and troubleshooting problems, completing repairs, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with other teams to continuously improve battery quality. You must operate in an "investigate, analyze, and repair" mindset.

MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC (MNAe) is a tier 1 supplier of Battery System Assemblies (BSAs) and Electric Powertrain (PE) Systems, which are key parts to produce electric vehicles based on state-of-art manufacturing technology related to battery system assembly.
Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
- Sample and inspect incoming materials; perform component testing
- Conduct inspections of EV batteries at various stages of the production process using precision measurement electrical equipment/charge and discharge equipment.
- Identify and diagnose defects and non-conformances in EV batteries using data analysis and various troubleshooting techniques.
- Perform repairs and software updates; and execute weld inspections according to established procedures.
- Analyze data and perform root cause analysis, utilizing the insights gained from precision measurement equipment, to determine the source of quality issues.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to address quality issues, leveraging the capabilities of precision measurement equipment to ensure effectiveness.
- Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders to solve problems and improve battery quality, including sharing findings from precision measurement data.
- Document all inspections, findings, corrective actions taken, and relevant data from the precision measurement equipment for future reference and analysis.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest quality standards and regulations for EV batteries, including the proper use and interpretation of data from precision measurement equipment.
- Provide support for reliability testing and launching new products
- Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of battery quality control processes, incorporating learnings from precision measurement data analysis.
- Maintain and calibrate precision measurement electrical equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Train and mentor other team members on properly using and interpreting data from precision measurement equipment.
- Comply with and promote company practices in the areas of safety, human relations, quality, cost, housekeeping, and delivery targets for the area.
- The position requires the ability to work overtime in excess of 40 hours per week.

Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)
Required Education & Experience:
- Completion of an associate degree or certificate from an educational institution in a related field, Electrical, Electronic, Automotive Technology, and Precision Measurement Engineering. Equivalent work with machine fabrication, advanced vehicle repair, or extensive electrical knowledge.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a quality control environment, preferably in the automotive or battery manufacturing industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Proven experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Experience working with EV batteries
- Working knowledge of 8D, 5 Why, and Six Sigma
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles

- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- May be required to work overtime or weekends
- Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, which may include lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
