Position : Assistant Project Manager (Construction)
Location : St. Paul, MN
Hiring Range : $80,000 - $95,000 annually
Summary :
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our proven construction management team in support of our clients in the greater St. Paul, MN area. The incumbent will work directly in support of the Project Manager (PM), assisting with a wide array of tasks to further represent Owners and / or Developers, and to promote the project’s execution. The incumbent will interact with owner’s stakeholders, internal MSI project staff, contractors, and trade partners to ensure all facets of the construction project are successfully completed. The incumbent will coordinate with all pertinent public agencies to ensure project compliance; review and comment on construction-related documents and drawings; monitor and help ensure that the project budget and construction schedules accurately reflect the project’s status / progress; and draft correspondence and related communications as directed by the PM. In addition, the incumbent will assist in monitoring activities of the contractor(s) and trade partners, review their construction schedules and submittals, and coordinate responses to these parties’ inquiries through the Requests for Information (RFI) process. The incumbent will actively stay abreast of project status in the field, promote safety and keep field notes of observed construction activities, personnel, and developments.
Essential Functions :
- Provide owner’s representation services on a large scale, multi-phase construction project, representing MOCA and the owner in a professional and competent manner.
- Coordinate, schedule, and participate in project meetings as needed, prepare meeting documents, and promote associated communications to address action items.
- Compose various reports and other correspondence for client personnel or internal MOCA staff.
- Assist the PM in monitoring and updating project budgets and schedules to meet the owner’s qualitative standards.
- With assistance from the MOCA team, track contractor field work and major construction milestones, provide input on the contractors’ construction schedules and submittals.
- Review and monitor contractor schedules for overall performance.
- Monitor that deliverables are completed on time and within budget, escalating problems as they arise.
- Participate in review of pay applications for accuracy and provide recommendations for payment.
- Monitor daily project logs, recording general descriptions of work performed, weather and schedule related items, incorporating same into project update documents and correspondence.
- Actively collaborate with PM, and perform other duties as assigned.
