Mochiko in Charlottesville, VA is looking for one crew member to join our 12 person strong team. We are located on 365 Merchant Walk Square, Suite 300. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and hard-working.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Crew Member at Mochiko, you will be responsible for providing unparalleled service to guests, greeting them to make them feel comfortable and welcome, and preparing and serving delicious food and drink offerings.
- Greet customers entering and leaving the restaurant
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area
- Accurately process all cash and credit card payments
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Properly fulfill customer orders
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Greet and make all guests feel welcome at the restaurant
- Take guests food orders and handle cash and credit transactions, entering into point-of-sales terminal accurately
- Sets up serving line and other items for purchase on daily basis
- Accurately prepare and pack menu items to fulfill orders
- Know our menu to answer any guest questions
- Work with your team to prepare the restaurant for each shift
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including the dining room, throughout the day
- Keep sales area stocked, clean and organized
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely fashion
- Perform other restaurant duties as assigned
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Chef or manager-on-duty
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in customer service, food service, or other related fields a plus
- Ability to build rapport with guests
- Energy and enthusiasm a must!
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Responsible cash handling and good math skills
- Loves working in a fast-paced, team oriented work environment
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and willingness to learn
- Dependable, strong work ethic
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Willing to train in different areas of the restaurant/kitchen
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have reliable transportation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to communicate routinely via phone, personal contact and via computer
- Walking, standing, sitting required throughout the typical business day
COMPENSATION:
- Starting pay is $15 per hour, depending on work experience
- Benefits include flexible hours. Sick pay, and vacation pay available for full-time employees
