Overview
We are seeking a dedicated part-time Banquet Manager to oversee the planning and execution of events within our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a background in the food service industry, particularly in casual, finer dining or hospitality. This role is crucial for ensuring that all banquet operations run smoothly, providing exceptional service to our guests while managing a team of staff effectively. Management experience is not required, but is a plus.
PLEASE NOTE: Hourly rate shown above does NOT include tips generated from 20% service fee on banquets and shared by banquet staff.
Duties
- Follow up as soon as possible on all banquet/special event inquiries.
- Work with the clients to determine the type of event & check availability of our facilities. Provide pricing for the type of food & beverage service they desire, as well as decorations, linen, etc. (work with kitchen staff to determine pricing when needed). Arrange for on-site client visits/tours if requested.
- Coordinate all aspects of banquet events, including setup, service, and breakdown.
- Manage and train banquet staff, ensuring high standards of service and professionalism.
- Communicate & collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and presentation.
- Ensure that banquet bar inventory is in place for specific events.
- Utilize our POS system to handle billing & payment processing.
- Coordinate with restaurant managers for server & bartender staffing needs for banquets
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Address guest inquiries and resolve any issues that may arise during events.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or hospitality necessary, managemnt experience a plus.
- Must be able to communicate & work with clients & staff in a pleasant manner.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively.
- Experience with bartending is a plus, along with knowledge of beverage service standards.
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed for events.
- A passion for providing exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
