We are seeking an experienced and motivated VP, Account Director to join our team and play a pivotal role in developing and managing client relationships, program planning and execution and driving the strategic direction of business-to-business marketing initiatives.  The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business-to-business marketing dynamics, excellent listening, communication and analytical skills, and a proven track record of developing productive client relationships in complex environments.  They should be able to both think strategically as well as manage day-to-day activities on assigned accounts.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities :

The Vice President, Account Director is responsible for a combination of functions related to account management, team development, strategic planning and execution.  They are responsible for developing, overseeing and managing key client relationships and leveraging Mod Op’s expertise and offerings to positively impact clients’ business objectives. They develop recommendations, proposals, plans and programs and lead the management of accounts and projects.  This role will be responsible for stewarding their account portfolio, including the satisfaction, growth and profitability of those accounts.

Client Relationship Management :

  • Serve as the executive point of contact for key clients, developing, building and maintaining strong relationships across the organization
  • Understand client objectives, challenges, and industry trends across a range of programs and disciplines with an emphasis on CRM strategies, paid media programs and website development
  • Familiarize yourself with the broad array of services offered by the company in order to draw upon them when clients or opportunities arise
  • Ensure alignment on client engagement goals and expectations and delivery against them
  • Be responsible for client satisfaction, growth and retention

Team Leadership and Management :

  • Lead and mentor direct reports, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
  • Foster collaboration within and outside of the team and promote teamwork, creativity, and innovation
  • Allocate and manage team resources effectively to deliver high-quality work that exceeds client expectations
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members to drive continuous improvement
  • Strategic Planning :

  • Prepare strategic communications plans with objectives, tactics, budgets, measurement and timelines
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively provide strategic recommendations to drive business growth and position the agency as a business partner
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitors to provide strategic insights to clients
  • Evaluate, analyze and report on program effectiveness based on key metrics and make recommendations for optimization
  • Financial Management :

  • Oversee the financial performance of client accounts including revenue planning, forecasting and profitability analysis
  • Maintain the financial health of client relationships; drive revenue growth and ensure profitability
  • Develop proposals, scopes of work and compensation agreements
  • Additional Responsibilities :

  • Lead / support select new business opportunities (not prospecting but pitching)
  • Proactively identify, recommend and implement business-building ideas regularly
  • Requirements

  • Collaborative approach with a focus on fostering positive relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 - 15 years of related work experience in an agency environment
