What You Will Be Doing
As an early Modalic employee, you will get to help decide the direction of our future. We are looking for a RF Engineer that will have the following responsibilities:
- Design RF systems and signal processing solutions for UAV communications.
- Implement RF systems for operation in denied, degraded, intermittent, and low-bandwidth (DDIL) environments.
- Conduct system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with RF systems vendors and customer subject matter experts to ensure RF system mission functionality and DoD compliance.
- Collaborate with simulation engineers to build physically accurate data links.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software. developers, and product managers, to deliver high-quality UAV solutions and ensure design feasibility.
- Ensure that designs meet safety, regulatory and performance standards.
- Keep up to date on the latest advancements in aircraft design and technology.
- Fly RF systems you have designed, built, and will deliver to customers.
- Proven experience designing and implementing signal processing solutions in complex systems.
- Proven experience designing and implementing RF solutions in DDIL environments.
- Proven experience interfacing with RF system vendors and customer RF subject matter experts.
- Proven experience testing and optimizing RF systems and signal processing solutions.
- Solid understanding of Air-to-Ground, Air-to-Air, and Space-to-Air communications and DoD standards.
- General understanding of FCC regulations and safety standards.
- A strong background in digital signal processing and communication theory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
