Role/Responsibility
- Order entry
- Monitor Intermodal shipments
- Identify delays with rail and vessel lines
- Resolve tracking issues including incomplete shipments
- Informs Dispatch Analyst of assignments that need further review (i.e. driver availability, equipment availability or load availability)
- Tracks down missing paperwork that delays load delivery and other basic load related situations in a timely manner (i.e. bill of lading)
- Coordinate with dispatchers and outside carriers to avoid demurrage, storage charges, excessive chassis fees, etc.
- Interact with Drivers
- Run/review internal/external reports and analysis
- Schedule pickups and/or deliveries daily
- Work closely with other departments to deliver high level of service to customers
- Establishes and maintains positive and professional working relationships with drivers and office associates
- Demonstrated sound judgment, initiative and tactful communication skills while dealing with critical information
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Experience
- Previous intermodal operations experience preferred
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Strong knowledge of geography
- Excellent follow up skills and attention to detail
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills; ability to prioritize workload
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must have good computer skills
- Ability to adapt easily to changing priorities
- Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude
Scheduling Requirement
- Requires excellent attendance Monday – Friday
- 40 Hour work week
- Start at 0800
- Flexible lunch break options (1/2 or Full Hour Break)
- Hybrid work schedule in the office
