Locum Tenens Hematology and Oncology Physician Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hematology and Oncology Physician to provide expert outpatient care during a temporary assignment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team and deliver exceptional patient care.

Assignment Details :

  • Start Date : February 20, 2025
  • End Date : May 1, 2025
  • Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM
  • Weekend Call : 24-hour call
  • Weekday Call : Shared with employed providers
  • Patient Volume : Up to 17 patients per shift
  • Practice Setting : Outpatient care only

Responsibilities :

  • Manage hematology and oncology patient caseloads
  • Respond to questions from RNs about patient concerns and chemotherapy
  • Provide minimal consults from the Emergency Department
  • Collaborate with a team of RNs, medical assistants, and pharmacists for chemotherapy education
  • Document patient care using Mosaiq EMR system

    • Requirements :

  • Board Certification : Required (Board-eligible accepted)
  • Certifications : BLS
  • Licensure : Active medical license
  • EMR System : Proficiency in Mosaiq preferred

    • Support Structure :

  • Dedicated medical assistant and several RNs
  • Co-located with radiation oncology services
  • Pharmacist support for chemotherapy education

    • Additional Information :

  • Nearest airport : El Paso
  • Lodging recommendations : Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard Marriott by NMSU (Memorial Medical discount available)
  • Credentialing timeframe : Approximately 45 days
