What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Runner/Server Assistant position at Modena Ristorante Vinoteca?
Modena Ristorante is a premium casual dining spot located in the outskirts of downtown Marietta. We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our team as an Food runner/ Server Assistant. Your main responsibility is to ensure plates are finished in the kitchen and food is delivered quickly and accurately to guests. You are responsible to describe the food being presented and handle or communicate guest requests as they come up.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate orders and information between the front of house and back of house, making sure that food is cooked in the right order, quickly, and presented to the customer as beautifully as possible
- Make sure the orders are being cooked in a timely fashion, so that all orders for a table are ready at the same time and make sure that once the food is cooked, servers run food to the table while it's warm and ready
- Responsible for set-up and break-down of station at the beginning and end of shift
- Maintain standard of plate presentation
- Follow proper service procedures when delivering food
- Offer condiments (pepper, cheese etc.) when appropriate
- Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area
- Communicate with server to ensure efficient service
- Assist servers and bussers when necessary
- Be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
- Communicate with servers and kitchen associates to ensure total guest satisfaction
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a restaurant
- Available to work on weekdays and weekends
- Be able to lift more than 20 lbs
- Be able to carry large tray and hold warm plates
- Excellent customer service skills and etiquette
- Ability to execute proper sanitation practices and safety procedures
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-work environment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
