Commercial Brands, its consumer division, manufactures and sells household cleaning products—including Arm & Hammer Dish Soap and OxiClean stain removers—into major retailers like Walmart, Amazon, and more.
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and dependable AR/AP Clerk to support accounting functions across both companies from our Houston headquarters.
What You’ll Do
You’ll manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions across two operating businesses, helping ensure smooth day-to-day financial operations and clean month-end closes.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare and send invoices to retail, distributor, and energy customers
- Record and apply incoming payments (ACH, wires, checks, credit cards)
- Reconcile accounts and follow up with customers on outstanding balances
- Maintain AR aging schedules and escalate past-due accounts
- Validate shipping documentation (BOLs, PODs) with sales and logistics teams
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Enter vendor invoices and match to POs and receiving reports
- Verify payment approvals and GL coding for weekly payment runs
- Manage check, ACH, and wire payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Work with operations and supply chain to confirm invoice accuracy
General Duties
- Maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities
- Support month-end close with reconciliations and journal prep
- File, organize, and maintain digital records in compliance with internal controls
- Assist with audit support and special projects as needed
What You Bring
- 2–5 years of AR/AP experience, ideally in a dual-entity or multi-division environment
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, Microsoft BD, or similar accounting software
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with EDI, Walmart Retail Link, or Amazon Vendor Central is a plus
- Comfortable in a full-time, in-office environment with cross-functional interaction
