What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front End Loader Operator position at Modern Concrete & Materials, LLC?
Job summary:
This is an outdoor heavy tractor equipment operator position, not a forklift. Pay could be increased based on experience. Front End Loader Operator will operate and maintain loader to feed conveyors, hoppers or load trucks. Maintaining aggregate piles in the yard and unloading trains will be part of the regular daily expectations. t.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Previous experience operating front end loader and maintenance is required
-High school diploma or GED.
-A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
-Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
-Must meet employment standards with regards to background/MVR reports.
-Must be able to work weekends, overtime and be flexible with hours and time of day.
-Ability to work outside in all seasons.
-Must have a “safety first” attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required.
Duties and/or Responsibilities:
- Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
- Safely and properly operate and perform basic maintenance on loader, and other equipment.
- Be able to master the task of loading trucks and hoppers, and unloading trains safely and accurately in a timely manner.
- Keep production fed for maximum efficiency.
- Load trucks with road materials up to legal hauling weight limit.
- Maintain smooth, level haul roads.
- Maintain contaminate free aggregate piles.
- Inspect material; check gradation quality, oversize rocks, contaminants.
- Check for spillage on plant floor and clean up daily (assist with shoveling spillage).
- Check for worn out flashing on plant that could lead to spillage.
- May maintain the excess concrete that is dumped out at the plant.
- Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
- Ensure safety, lock out/tag out and environmental regulation compliance.
- Always work safely, following all safety protocol, and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
- Timely and regular attendance is essential.
- Perform other duties, shoveling, and including separate labor-intensive tasks, as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Extensive walking on uneven surfaces.
- Lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
- Exposure to dust, fumes, odors.
- Hand eye coordination.
- Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids.
- Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting.
- Operating equipment at night under artificial lighting.
- Working in all weather.
