What are the responsibilities and job description for the Music Instructor - Piano Specialization position at Modern Day Music School?
Modern Day Music is looking for Piano Teachers to begin one day per week and add on days from there. Formal education in music is preferred, but other experience is also considered. This position is well suited for young musicians who can be available during weekday afternoon to evening hours, and potentially Saturday or Sunday. Very flexible.
Must have fun attitude and personality and the ability to work well with kids and adults of all ages and genres. NYSSMA help also sometimes needed. Our current teachers are close to full so we need to add to accommodate new students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging piano lesson plans tailored to students' individual needs and skill levels.
- Foster a positive learning environment through effective management and communication.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students, encouraging their musical growth.
- Prepare for recitals and performance opportunities to showcase student progress.
- Communicate with parents to discuss student development and address any concerns.
We have a super fun and engaging school with students of all ages, skill levels, and genre interests. We normally do showcases 2 times per year for students to perform, we have optional band programs, musical theater groups, and songwriting classes to keep kids and adults engaged.
