Modern Dermatology of Maryland is a locally owned dermatology practice in Annapolis, MD looking for a practice manager preferably with experience in the front and back office duties in dermatology. Work in an intimate, physician-owned, team environment as we grow and into a brand-new state-of-the-art space and adjacent expansion.
The Practice Manager position is a great fit for a collaborative, responsible, and business-minded person with previous experience in the field of dermatology. The ideal candidate would have experience as an medical assistant preferably in dermatology. Experience with coding, billing, and practice management is desired. You will work directly with a board-certified dermatologist to manage a growing practice and help establish and maintain policies, procedures, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Knowledge of front-office, human resources, social media, and compliance is a huge plus. The practice manager should exemplify a positive attitude and a team-centered approach to maintain a supportive environment for staff, patients, and providers.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the staff with a positive attitude that inspires a team-based environment
- Oversee front and back office staff and step in where needed
- Provide assistance with answering phones, scheduling appointments, and billing
- Optimize physician schedules for efficiency and quality
- Help onboard new employees and provide performance reviews
- Become proficient with our state-of-the art cloud-based EMR (EMA)
- Monitor and ensure the practice stays up-to-date with compliance and licensing
- Manage staff schedule, hours, and vacation requests
- Oversee payroll and timesheets for staff
- Order supplies and perform inventory to ensure the required supplies are on-site.
- Anticipate future needs and generate new ideas for growth
- Monitor RCM (revenue cycle management) and ensure we receive payment for services
- Monitoring P&L and become proficient in our Practice management system
- Drive patient visits through outreach and marketing efforts
- Ensure phone calls are answered and patient issues are dealt with in a timely manner
- Follow-up with any patient complaints and billing/insurance issues.
- Oversee biopsy, culture, and laboratory logs.
- Be aware and comply with federal, state, and local compliance rules pertaining to private health information (PHI), confidentiality, and HIPPA,
- Be willing to have a wide range of duties as part of a growing new practice.
