Position Summary
The Industrial/Landfill Sales Representative will primarily be responsible for growing our business and maintaining current customers at the Landfill located in Lewiston[DC1] , NY. Modern is looking for a sales rep that has the following sales experience: project related sale’s, including bids, RFP’s, and direct relationship experience with Customers. The Industrial/Landfill Sales Representative is responsible for developing and implementing sound selling strategies to new prospects and for achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual contracted budgeted sales goals.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent face-to-face communication skills, be adept at pricing negotiations, relationship building, pricing acumen and drive to go the extra mile for success. Direct Landfill selling experience a plus.
Essential Responsibilities
- Identify viable leads, manage prospects, utilize Public Publications for upcoming projects, and fortify relationships for short term and long-term success.
- Scheduling and documenting all activities and developing robust information profiles on prospective customers to facilitate the acquisition of new business.
- Develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends in designated markets to anticipate changing customer needs; proactively manage customer base.
- Proactively communicate with, or respond to, customers in conjunction with the Company’s pricing initiatives.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Company’s available services, lines of business, and pricing structures.
- Collaborate regularly with the Landfill President and internal teams as appropriate to review activities and prospective customer trends.
- Respond in a timely fashion to all prospective clients’ inquiries providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Professional presentation; is confident, assertive and displays a high level of self-esteem.
- Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient manner.
- High energy, friendly and engaging; has excellent persuasion skills; can persuade others to change their minds or behavior.
- Is trustworthy and always maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills; can effectively communicate to all levels of management, both internally and externally.

Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED (accredited).
- Bachelor’s degree in business, or an environmental related field preferred.
- Four years of direct selling experience in the environmental/waste services sector or related role a plus.
- Understanding of the environmental sector and related industrial sector along with related products and services beneficial.
- Possesses the financial acumen to complete account profitability analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Willing to travel locally, as needed.
