Summary : The Wildlife Technician position is responsible for conducting inspections, monitoring and extracting wildlife, and implementing exclusion services to manage animal activity. This role requires effective communication with customers, leadership, and team members while maintaining professional conduct and adherence to company policies.
General Responsibilities :
Represent Modern with pride, integrity and positivity at the office, in the field and in the community
Maintain correspondence and communication with leadership, staff, customers, vendors and all others as necessary
Attend all assigned trainings and events
Obtain and recertify for licensures as required
Active membership in any requested industry organizations
Stay abreast of the latest information on industry trends, products and services to enhance sales capacity
Clock in and out daily, with a minimum 30 minute lunch break
Ensure appearance is neat and clean
Remain in uniform while performing job duties
Responsibilities :
Communication
Follow the established chain of command
Communicate clearly and effectively during all training opportunities
Follow established communication protocols, including documenting communication as necessary in FieldRoutes, slack, and e-mail.
Services
Inspections - thoroughly complete all inspections as scheduled. Collect inspection fees as required. Send out appropriately priced leads within 24 hours of inspection completions. Ensure that they are concise, with a detailed scope of work and customer appropriate language. Clearly outline all expectations and limitations of proposed services. As required, communicate with customers to address all concerns and close the sale.
Monitoring / Extractions - continuously monitor Reveal Camera App for evidence of animal activity. Retrieve all trapped animals within 24 hours. Remove any trapped animals according to regulation.
Exclusions -communicate individual needs per job, per day to ensure all equipment, material and supplies are prepared for the needs of the job. Upon completion of final follow up reiterate to the customer all expectations and limitations of exclusion.
After-hours Expectations - Approved only for animal trapping. If trapping must be performed Fri-Mon you must notify the Ops Manager. Inform Ops Manager of all afterhours pickups. Ensure that your work phone is available and set for notifications. If you’re unavailable for Fri-Mon trapping you must inform the Ops Manager no later than Thursday. If approved, implement holiday protocol.
Holiday Protocol - The last working day prior to the holiday ensure all outstanding traps are picked up or closed by end of day. Schedule appointment to reset traps for the following business day. Clearly communicate this possibility to all customers whose services may fall on a holiday.
Education
Allot time to research state and federal regulations that impact the ability of Modern Exterminating to offer, sell and complete proposed services.
Implement, with the Operations Manager, educational programs for cross department sales opportunities.
Create and enforce Standard Operating Procedures for the Wildlife Department
Administration
Clock in and out of Bamboo accurately, including all breaks.
Clock in and out of FieldRoutes accurately, as soon as inspection / job is complete.
Follow up on all leads, notate all follow ups in FieldRoutes.
As needed, discuss and develop with the Leadership Team new services.
Inventory Management - maintain and control an inventory for all products, materials and equipment required for the Wildlife Department, including all Wildlife fleet vehicles.
Technician Training - ensure technicians can outfit their vehicles, complete appointments, input leads, communicate appropriately with customers, and understand all regulations that will impact their jobs. Determine, with approval of the Operations Manager, when the technician is prepared to advance.
