What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician/Receptionist position at Modern EyeCare?
- Job Description :
- Perform pre-testing procedures such as measuring visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and depth perception.
- Assist with patient history taking and documenting medical records.
- Prepare patients for examination by the optometrist.
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the optometrist.
- Conduct diagnostic tests and imaging procedures, such as retinal imaging and visual field testing.
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
- Assist with contact lens fittings and ordering.
- Requirements :
- Knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and common eye conditions.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (Epic experience preferred).
- Strong retail sales skills
- Proficient in aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of ophthalmology terminology and procedures is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
