What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shear Operator position at Modern Forge Tennessee LLC?
Primary Function:
Cuts material to specified lengths and quantity on various sized shears and production saw.
****Good Mechanical Aptitude Needed!****
Working Procedure:
*Receives instruction and work assignments from Material Coordinator
*Set-up and adjusts shears and production saw with correct blade size based on material size and grade to be cut
*Cuts material to specified lengths and quantity per the traveler
*Sets bar stop to correct length using a tape measure
*Operates automatic shears and production saw
*Replaces shear blades when worn or defective and reviews blade conditions to maintain accurate inventory of ready to use shear blades
*Weigh each tub of material and record to maintain accurate record of material cut
*Transports material to and from machine using a lift truck.
*Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
*Follows all safety procedures and precautions.
