POSITION SUMMARY
Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a Platform Engineer that will a vital part in developing and securing next-generation infrastructure designed to support Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads. RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
As a Platform Security Engineer, you will lead the charge in automating security practices to ensure the compliance and resilience of critical infrastructure. Your expertise will drive the seamless integration of traditional compliance and vulnerability scanning across a wide range of technologies, including switches, routers, firewalls, operating systems, applications, and components of the OpenShift Container Platform (OCP). In this vital role, you will be at the forefront of detecting and mitigating security risks, ensuring that the platform remains secure, reliable, and prepared to meet evolving challenges.
- Conduct high-quality security assessments of network and platform components, mitigating risks, and developing security automation aligned with industry best practices.
- Maintain high security and compliance standards through automation and documentation.
- Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes.
- Operate and troubleshooting network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, Linux systems, and next-gen networking tools.
- Enforce security best practices to ensure compliance with government and industry standards.
- Innovate new security solutions to accelerate progress toward key milestones.
- Collaborate with the ISSO to ensure compliance in new designs, deployments, and ongoing platform maintenance.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph.
- Experience with RESTful APIs to automate security workflows, including vulnerability assessments, compliance checks, and remediation. Skilled at integrating APIs with security tools to improve efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of the ATO process, NIST SP 800-53 controls, Risk Management Frameworks (RMF), and cybersecurity standards. Proficient with tools like Security Center, Nessus, and Splunk for compliance monitoring.
- In-depth understanding of VLAN, LAN, and WAN architectures, with experience securing complex network topologies.
- Skilled in using Ansible to automate security tasks, deploy configurations, and enforce compliance, including developing reusable playbooks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficient in Python or Go for automating processes, building tools, and optimizing secure, reliable code.
- Proven ability to collaborate with team members, vendors, and customers, and communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in dynamic environments, with experience in fast-paced networking and security teams.
