Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual to join our team as the Safety & Risk Management Coordinator. The suitable candidate will possess the necessary problem-solving and leadership abilities to develop our safety program. The Safety & Risk Management Coordinator's responsibilities will include maintaining safety documentation, conducting employee safety training, record-keeping, ensuring OSHA compliance, managing claims, and administering safety qualification platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and update safety manual, policies and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements and safety qualification platforms
2. Respond to requests for site-specific safety documentation, procedures, and PPE as required for projects & jobsites
3. Perform safety inspections of job sites, vehicles, PPE and company-owned equipment to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
4. Prepare site-safety inspection reports, identify corrective actions, and implement solutions
5. Conduct investigations of workplace injuries, vehicle accidents and near-miss incidents
6. Identify the root causes of workplace incidents and implement corrective actions
7. Prepare incident reports and maintain records for insurance and management purposes
8. Act as main point of contact for workplace injuries and incidents. Prepare injury and accident reports
9. Submit injury claims to workers compensation insurance, monitor claim status, coordinate modified-duty plans, and maintain records
10. Serve as the main contact for reporting of auto accidents and general liability claims. Prepare accident reports, submit claims and monitor claim status
11. Maintain records of all workplace injuries, vehicle incidents, and general liability claims.
12. Submit work injury and accident data to Service Logic, stakeholders, OSHA, and appropriate risk management platforms.
13. Create reports and conduct statistical analyses to reduce incidents and accidents
14. Manage online risk management platforms used for safety reporting, claims administration, occupational healthcare management, and OSHA ITA reporting.
15. Act as administrator for contractor management portals including ISNetworld, Avetta and Appruv and respond to contractor prequalification requests.
16. Respond to platform requests from Connected Clients for safety documentation, compliance surveys, employee training records, and safety performance data.
17. Perform monthly and quarterly system updates of injury data and fleet safety performance. Annually update OSHA & EMR safety information.
18. Coordinate safety committee meetings, develop meeting agendas, and maintain meeting records.
19. Maintain safety calendar with scheduled dates for safety training, events, audits and inspections
20. Successfully complete the administrator-level training for the online safety training platform, Ving.
21. Select Ving training courses and create an automated schedule for monthly user training
22. Create new Ving training courses with system tools.
23. Set up new Ving users and modify employee accounts. Track user engagement and progress
24. Perform in-person training for employees on OSHA policies, procedures, and standards,
25. Facilitate safety training for new hires and conduct jobsite safety toolbox talks
26. Schedule and manage the annual all staff safety training event
27. Maintain accurate records of employee safety training and certifications
28. Analyze trends to develop strategies and solutions for reducing accidents.
29. Prepare and present safety reports to the safety committee and leadership team
30. Attend Safety Peer Group meetings organized by Service Logic, MMCA and SMARCA
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of OSHA-30 Construction. OSHA 500 Construction Trainer, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety and risk management particularly in the construction industry or mechanical contracting
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards
- Experience with contractor management platforms like Avetta, ISNetworld, or similar systems
- Practical experience in claims management including knowledge of the claims process, work injury reporting, and OSHA recordkeeping requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 office tools including Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Work in diverse conditions, including heat, cold, and outdoor environments
- Conduct physical safety inspections and walkthroughs.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 Depending on qualifications
