What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Cleaner / Fabricator Helper position at Modern Industrial Furniture?
Looking to hire a parts cleaner / fabricator helper to join our team. We build unique and custom metal furniture and fixtures for high-end residential and commercial clients. This is an entry level role where the successful candidate will perform various tasks related to the finishing of high-end metal furniture. Under direct supervision, activities include, but are not limited to cleaning, prep, grinding, cleanup and assembly.
Responsibilities
- Reads work order or receives instructions from supervisor regarding prep work.
- Completes all prep work for final finishing
- Use of basic hand tools - drills, sanders, grinders, brushes
- Clean and remove dirt, rust, grease, vacuum, sand and/or polish surfaces in preparation for final finish
- Responsible for helping fabricators and other production tasks when needed.
- Position is based in a normal shop environment
- Attention to detail with a focus on fit & finish (this is high end furniture)
- Work and think safety at all times
Qualifications
- Must have reliable transportation, punctual, and dependable.
- Experience with basic power and hand tools
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a workshop environment
- Must be willing to learn, be a team player, self motivated, detail oriented and efficient
- Ability to lift 75lbs and stand for the majority of your shift
- Applicants must be able to pass a background check.
- Excessive tardies or absences will not be tolerated.
