Modern Manufacturing is looking for a Production/Manufacturing Lead to join the Production Team at our manufacturing facility located in Eudora, KS. This position is responsible for a cross-functional team of 7-10 people working in Weld, Powder, and Assembly and will be the senior person on the shift. The Production Lead is a working Lead that will assist the Department Supervisors in achieving the shifts goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost of an hourly work force. The Manufacturing Lead is an expert in welding and powder coating and will be responsible for fostering teamwork, coaching team members and performance management of their shift. Weekend Shift Hours: Friday - Sunday, 6:00am to 6:00pm
Primary Responsibilities:
- Is proactive on safety concerns and takes action when appropriate.
- Lead is responsible for executing manufacturing plan set by each Department Supervisor.
- Works closely with other Leads and Supervisors to ensure smooth transition between shifts.
- Coordinates workflow for a work area of 7-10 employees to ensure production schedules are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Shift may consist of work performed in Fabrication, Weld and Assembly and Lead should be familiar with all areas.
- Produces required quality of work.
- Must have a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide coaching and facilitate training to develop employees.
- Demonstrate leadership in the areas of communication, conflict resolution, process constraints and problem solving.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in Welding Mig and Tig.
- Preferably experienced with large powder coating systems.
- Ability to lead, train, coach and motivate employees.
- Ability to problem solve, make sound decisions and delegate appropriately across departments.
- Have a professional attitude and take pride in work.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 3 years of related work experience preferred.
- Able to read and understand technical drawings.

- Exposure to potential hazards, therefore, protective clothing and equipment required such as steel toe safety boots or shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection.
