SUMMARY
Monitors activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and provide assistance to swimmers by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe areas
- Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning and administers CPR and first aid
- Maintains visual observation of the pool and members
- Maintains vigilance and rescue ready body positioning wearing the rescue hip pack and rescue tube
- Maintain order in swimming area
- Inspects facilities for cleanliness
- Cleans the pool, pool deck and locker rooms
- Determines chlorine content and pH value of water with water testing kit
- Store and maintain pool equipment in good order
- Other duties as assigned

- Observes safety and security procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to work morning, evening and weekend hours
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a minimum of 16 years old and show proof of Work Permit. Permits are required for all employed minors under the age of 18.

- Must obtain Defibrillator qualifications (to be demonstrated within 30 of hiring date).
