Responsibilities
The DTS SimStim Linux Systems Operator will provide daily training opportunities for Warfighters by operating the Distributed Training System Simulation & Stimulation (DTS Sim/Stim) that interfaces with the Command and Control Battle Management and Communications system (C2BMC) and the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Systems Trainer (GST).
This position consists of a variety of tasks to involve starting and stopping training events with Warfighters and coordinating daily activities with DTS team members including personnel operating C2BMC, GST, and other internal and external elements, as required. All operations must be recorded in an events log and consistent metrics must be maintained. Operator must be able to work well within a small team of two to four personnel.
A training program is provided, but does not cover every situation; therefore, the operator must be able to overcome obstacles. DTS is expected to operate two shifts across days and mids during a Mon - Fri workweek. The individual will work closely with a mission-focused team that plans, conducts, and supports missile defense training events for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the Warfighter, and other missile defense stakeholders. Some training events may feature Warfighter Operator-In-The-Loop (OITL) participation as a role-player and include developmental missile defense system elements or simulations.
Responsibilities and areas of support include but are not limited to the following:
- Learn and operate the Linux based Distributed Training System (DTS) Simulation Stimulation (SS) consisting of the Missile Defense System (MDS) framework, weapons and sensor models and Hardware in the Loop (HWIL)
- The ability to effectively communicate complex concepts, issues, and status to government leadership, senior contractors, and multiple participating organizations using a broad spectrum of tools.
- Participate in Warfighter OITL as a role player to allow the Warfighter to practice TTPs to the maximum extent possible
- Assist with first look troubleshooting of various M&S components within the DTS Sim/Stim environment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- The ability to learn and operate a Linux based system.
- Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

- Security certificate or ability to obtain one with 60 days of hire.
- The ability to adapt to short term deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Ability to support shift work, as required.
- Rapidly learn and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity and experience with Linux Operating Systems and Linux FedVTE or Linux certification.
- Knowledge of Missile Defense System (MDS) concepts of operations (CONOPS), Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs)
- Experience with SSF, OSF, OSM, EADSIM, JSAF, MDST, FOXSIM, BOA, C2BMC, GFC, or other real-time simulations
